Membership Requirements

GENERAL MEMBERS: Human Resources professionals who are certified as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP by Society of Human Resource Management or PHR or SPHR by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), or whose primary occupation is regular employment in the administration of a human resources function; or any faculty member whose primary focus is human resources management; or a full-time consultant whose primary focus is human resources management; or persons who demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Association a bona fide involvement in human resources administration. General members pay dues, have voting rights, and may hold office in the Association.

RETIRED MEMBERS: Any member in good standing at the time of retirement from any firm, organization, or institution may become a retired member. Retired members pay dues, have voting rights, and may hold office in the Association.

Companies may have an unlimited number of qualified members. Application for any of these categories of membership must be reviewed by the Membership Committee and approved by the Executive Committee. To achieve the purposes of the Association, there shall be no discrimination because of race, gender, religion, age, national origin, or disability.

Dues

Dues are payable on a calendar year basis and entitle the member to all services and privileges of membership. Annual dues are $65.00 for Local Only Members and $55.00 for National SHRM Members.

Dues paid by individuals are NOT transferable to other individuals. Dues paid by companies for their representatives may be transferred to incumbents. Dues are non-refundable.

National Affiliation

We are the local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the leading voice of the human resource profession. SHRM provides education and information services, conferences and seminars, government and media representation, online services and publications to more than 205,000 professional and student members throughout the world. The Society, the world’s largest human resource management association, is a founding member of the North American Human Resource Management Association (NAHRMA) and a founding member of the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA).
